Stolpersteine
Zwischen 2011 und 2015 wurden in Quakenbrück Stolpersteine zur Erinnerung an jüdisches Leben verlegt. Der Künstler und Initiator Gunter Demnig baute in seinem europaweiten Projekt ,,Stolpersteine gegen das Vergessen'' für jedes Familienmitglied einen eigenen Gedenkstein in das Straßenpflaster unserer Stadt ein. Diese ,,Denkmäler-Steine'' sorgen dafür, dass die Namen und die individuellen Schicksale der ehemaligen Mitbürger in den Alltag ihrer Heimatstadt zurück gebracht werden. Die Broschüre "Stolpersteine - Juden in Quakenbrück" ist zum Preis von 2 Euro in der Tourismus-Information Artland erhältlich.
