Reporting content and moderation
Here we explain the measures we take to moderate and restrict content that others publish through our services. This applies to posts on Schleswig-Holstein.App — by clubs, businesses, municipalities and volunteer Local Guides — as well as websites we host for customers. This information is provided pursuant to Article 14 of the EU Digital Services Act (DSA).
Found something that doesn't belong here?
Let us know via the Contact formor by e-mail to [email protected].
It helps if you give the address of the page concerned and a short reason why the content might be unlawful. You don't need to sign in. We handle every report, including anonymous ones.
We pass on neither the content of your report nor your personal data to the person, who published the reported post.
Which content is not permitted
Anyone publishing through us must not violate any legal provisions or the rights of third parties. In particular, content is not permitted that
- whose publication constitutes a criminal or administrative offence,
- that violate the German Legal Services Act (Rechtsdienstleistungsgesetz),
- that are insulting, racist, discriminatory or pornographic, or that spread such ideas,
- that are harmful to minors or glorify violence,
- that infringe copyright, trademark or competition law.
The person who publishes content is solely responsible for it. We are not obliged to check posts for legality in advance, but we reserve the right to review them in individual cases.
How we review
A real person looks at every report. We use automated processes at most as a supplement, never as the sole basis for a decision.
Some submissions are also reviewed before they are published:
- Clubs, businesses and events that volunteer Local Guidescreate will first appear as “submitted” and only become public after editorial approval.
- Anyone claiming an existing listing is verified by the editorial team before they may edit it.
- Short notices from confirmed senders, on the other hand, appear sofort — without prior review. They too can be reviewed and removed afterwards.
What measures we can take
If we find that content is not permitted, we may — even without prior notice — take one or more of these measures:
- a warning to the person who published the content
- temporary blocking or permanent deletion of the content concerned
- temporary or permanent suspension of our services, such as access to managing listings or the hosting service
- Termination of the contract or usage relationship
We choose the measure based on proportionality and weigh the interests involved. What counts is the significance and potential harm of the content, how often prohibited content has been published, the ratio to other use, the apparent intent and the apparent degree of fault.
Anyone affected by a measure will be informed and told the reason. If you think a decision is wrong, object via the same route as above — we will take another look.
Websites we host for customers
Websites that we operate for customers as part of web hosting services follow their own procedures — there we do not check content in advance. The details can be found atcomposer.de/inhalte-melden. The reporting route is the same as above.
